On June 11th the new £421,695 computed tomography scanner was opened for the Radiology Department thanks to the generosity of the League of Friends. Around 40,000 CT scans are carried out every year. The new Canon System uses cutting - edge technology and signifcantly improves diagnostic quality and reduces radiation exposure to patients. After speeches by Joe Teague, Matt Guppy and League Chairman Martin Tucker the Ceremonial ribbon was cut by Matt and Martin.
